Mallrat, Arno Faraji, Demon Days & Denim on HYPER FEST 2020
New World Artists, Exclusive Booking Agents for Arno Faraji.
A few years ago, Arno Faraji was a high school student whose interest in rap music didn’t extend much further than early Drake mixtapes and making beats after class. Now, however, Arno Faraji is an essential to Perth’s bustling hip-hop scene and on the forefront of a greater, nation-wide rap explosion; his refreshing approach to hip-hop and its creation making him one of the genre’s most exciting and forward-thinking names.
After winning triple j’s career-making Unearthed High competition in 2017, Arno’s consistently strived. Bless (What It’s Like) saw him collaborate with two long-time idols in REMI and Sensible J – a leap forward after gaining national attention through a series of self-written and largely self-produced solo tracks – while singles such as the Milan Ring-assisted Scalin’ and Sneakers continue to showcase his versatility in both rapping and production, making him a favourite both in the public eye and in the media.
Musically, Arno Faraji sits somewhere between his influences and inspirations: the grooves of Kaytranada and Smino meet raps that have the ability to move between the playfulness of Goldlink and the ferocity of Childish Gambino – often in the same track. On the live stage, he’s also becoming a force-to-watch: he’s played Groovin the Moo and FOMO By Night amongst support slots for Little Simz, Rejjie Snow, Smino and Kwame, and in mid-2019, his debut headline tour proved that he can hold a show on his own too.
Looking forward, Arno Faraji is just getting started. There’s more music on the horizon bound to further showcase his talents in both rapping, songwriting and production, while his success on triple j’s Bars Of Steel program and on the live stage is putting him further out into the national eye than ever.. #FARAJISZN, as the people say, is only just getting started. It’s just up to everybody else to keep up.
