In 1995 a band from Lismore named Grinspoon submitted their debut single Sickfest to triple j entering a brand new and revolutionary talent competition also in its first year and became the first act to win Unearthed while Sickfest remained triple j's number one most requested for months after, as Grinspoon became a movement and spear headed a new wave of alternative music precisely to the taste of the times.

Perpetually maintaining an edge for what comes next their career spans thousands of live shows and concerts, amidst six consecutive Top 10 album debuts and multi-platinum sales, counting up to an incredible 17 Grinspoon songs polling Hottest 100 year after year and placing Grinspoon in the Hottest 100 of All Time.

Releasing debut album 'Guide To Better Living' in 1997, Grinspoon soon had 5 singles rallying the airwaves as the album took double platinum in it's stride and 36 weeks in the ARIA Top 50 signalled an extraordinary musical coming of age for the band, whose members were still each too young to have reached their own.

Since then, it’s rolled success and yea, occasionally excess and certified sales of half a million, and seven albums comfortably making the ARIA Top 10, 2 ARIA Awards, 13 ARIA nominations, 1,200 gigs, tens of millions of frequent flyer miles (say what?), Grinspoon have secured the highest number of National Big Day Out Festival Tours, have delivered some of the most powerful performances ever seen at idyllic and iconic Homebake, Falls Festival, and Splendour in the Grass, NRL Grand Finals and even a Commonwealth Games Ceremony.

In 2014 Grinspoon tried for a hiatus the members pursuing various projects outside of music until Jimmy Barnes tempted their return for a run of shows with Cold Chisel which made for a neat closing of the circle, as older masters and younger disciples were brought together for these record SELL-OUT shows.

In 2017 GRINSPOON opened proceedings with Champion Broadcast Live To Air Nationally on The 9 Network and performing to a highly charged audience at ANZ Olympic Stadium for the ever critical Game 2, State Of Origin, and that most powerful of performances and the equally powerful reaction from the crowd, saw 3 festival offers received before half time.

The 2017 Tour '20 Years Of Better Living' was a 31 date National Tour, quickly SOLD OUT alongside the release of the 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition album, Guide To Better Living. 

GRINSPOON's 2019 CHEMICAL HEARTS TOUR was a 14 date concert tour of Australian capital cities propelled by the sonically spellbinding Chemical Heart.

2020 gave the members time out and headspace they had been seeking and later in the year Grinspoon announced they would headline A Day On The Lawn Festival in Hobart to be held in March 2021. Selling out months prior, the band motivated by audience reaction announced another festival headline, this time the inaugural Spring Loaded Festival at Royal Lawns Randwick, leading to 7 more Spring Loaded Festival headlines announced nationally.

Closer to home in May 2022 Grinspoon support was needed in flood ravaged Lismore. A Special Event, One From The Heart, was held to uplift the spirit of 12,000 locals. In July 2022, Grinspoon finally performed a rescheduled SOLD OUT Splendour In The Grass Festival. Next up the band headlined Scene & Heard Festival - Newcastle, Out Of The Woods Festival - Bussleton, Wallapalooza Festival on the Gold Coast, performed another classic State Of Origin Game - Perth, Meatstock at Sydney Showgrounds, The Outdoor Event farewelling iconic venue The Cambridge Hotel, Be Social Festival, Mackay.

2023 The Easy Detention Tour was 11 SOLD OUT concerts October - December 2023 for one of their highest grossing tours to date.

The Big Bash Cricket NYE and Summernats ACT and headlined Hello Sunshine Festival VIC.

In May 2024 Grinspoon announced their intention to play a 10 week 45 date regional and capital city national tour called 'whatever, whenever, wherever,' and the announce heralded their first album release in 12 years.

Not bad for an outfit that formed in Lismore in 1995 after meeting at The Gollan, a local pub on an open stage night.
