First Beige Unveil New EP 'Mirrors'

First Beige Unveil New EP 'Mirrors'

The highly anticipated ‘Mirrors’ EP from Brisbane’s First Beige is out today. The 5-track release sees First Beige indulge their desire to get their listeners on their feet with a mix of genre-defying sonics, inspired by jazz and dance music.

'Mirrors' is a dance EP; I've become so fascinated by dance grooves and the technicality behind the music,” reveals front man David Versace. “The EP came together pretty quickly, we had a bunch of ideas and songs floating around and decided it would be perfect to compile them into an EP.”

“We took the demos/Ideas in for recording with Sampology and he worked his magic on the production and mixing. It was so great working with a producer for this EP, I feel like it gives you a lot more space to grow and experiment with the writing process and try things that you wouldn't have thought of yourself. Hope you enjoy the EP as much as we did making it!”  Versace says.

The release follows First Beige’s August single ‘Desire’, which earned the band praise and airplay internationally. Now, with the addition of 4 new tracks, each sweeping across new groovy territories, First Beige are set to make their one-of-a-kind mark over airwaves and onstage.

The Mirrors EP was recorded, mixed and produced at Sampology’s studio, with additional touches recorded at David Versace's home and Oscar Borschmann's home in early 2019.

Beyond the studio, First Beige have proved to be a powerful force. Their sets at BIGSOUND Music Festival and Conference 2019, were highly acclaimed, with Deafen County saying, “judging by the movement in the crowd, everyone is in favour of their funk” and Scenestr saying, “The set has everything, from dreamy, drawn-out guitar solos, to snappy snares, to a triangle appearance”.

Shortly after, First Beige dazzled audiences across the East Coast on their co-headline tour with Perth’s Demon Days and performed at XXXX Presents: Live at the Brewery. Their vibrant live performances are set to continue, with First Beige being announced on the lineups of Nine Lives Festival (2020), Party in the Paddock (2020) and a few more to come!
