JK-47 Teases 2nd Album & Releases "AT ONE (REVISION)"

JK-47 is going in deep, releasing introspective new single with producer Jay Orient 'At One (reVision) ft. Nate G' which received a first play on triple j's Good Nights last night. The thought provoking track marks the first taste of his highly anticipated second album Revision for Regrowth and the beginning of a new era for the Bundjalung rapper.

From the first Japanese shakuhachi flute motif to the last bar, 'At One (reVision)' is a haunting reflection by JK-47 about persisting through the struggle, and then once you’ve made it out, realising the growth that comes with that struggle. "It’s about the perspective you can gain from withstanding the hard times, instead of letting it break you and make you bitter towards life and the people around you," he says.

Like many, the pandemic led JK-47 to look inward at his life and working on himself, but the beginning of COVID was also paired with becoming a first-time father in his early 20s. Revision and Regrowth peels back more layers than the rapper's NIMA-award-winning debut Made for This and offers up an intricate summary of JK-47's learnings and personal progression over this life-changing time. Working with producer Jay Orient across the whole record, the 2020 triple j Unearthed artist of the year winner says the instrumentation is also a lot richer on this second offering. "I reached out to a lot of people and there's a lot more credits on this album - the feel and flow is completely different." he says.

Flowing differently into the second half of 2022, JK-47 recently wowed audiences at Splendour in the Grass, has just been announced as a speaker at BIGSOUND conference and is looking to bring in 2023 with spots on the line up of Wildlands and Field Day festivals.

With plenty more live shows to be announced, the revision's done. Now it's time for regrowth. The next JK-47 era is upon us.
